RFID pairing guide

This guide explains how to use the RFID Pairing feature in the Scanner, including scanning barcodes, RFID tags, and pairing them with containers.

Easy Access

  • The RFID Pairing section is visible immediately when you open the app after logging in via Scanner.

  • Access scanning in just one tap by selecting "See all".

How to Pair Barcode + RFID

1- Scan either a barcode or an RFID tag to retrieve container information.

2. If pairing a new combination, the app will prompt a force pair warning if the RFID is already paired with another container.

3. Confirm to complete the pairing.

4. The app will show a success message once the pairing is complete.

Scanning Options

  • You can scan in any order:

    • Barcode → RFID

    • RFID → Barcode

  • You can also scan only a barcode or only an RFID tag to view container information.

  • The app will display information about the container based on your scan(s).

Offline Functionality

  • Pairing works offline.

  • You can start scanning with either a barcode or an RFID tag.

  • If a barcode is already paired to a container, scanning it will show:

    • Container ID

    • Paired RFID number

  • When scanning both barcode and RFID:

    • The app will indicate if the RFID is already paired with a different container.

    • If you scan an RFID after a barcode, it will show whether it can be paired or if no changes will be made.

    • Offline pairing sync will warn you if one item is already paired with another container.

Tickets

  • A new Service Type: RFID_PAIRING is introduced in the system.

To add the RFID Pairing service:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Customer Services

  2. Click the “+” button.

  3. Select Service Type: RFID Pairing.

  1. Enter the Service Name.

  2. Click Submit to save the service.

This will make the RFID Pairing service available for use in the app.

Once added, you can create a ticket using this specific service type.

Navigate to Settings → Tickets.

  • Pairing works with or without an open ticket.

Adding the RFID Pairing service type makes it easier to see and filter pairing-related tickets. This helps you quickly track which containers have been paired.

It also allows for potential automation, such as automatically updating tickets after an RFID pairing is completed.
