Updates
This release focuses on making WasteHero cleaner, faster and more consistent. Below you will find the new features first, then improvements to everyday screens, and finally a short guide to the handful of things that have moved to a new home.
New features
Individuals & Companies
Customers | New design | Individuals & Companies
Previously, everyone lived together under "Contacts". Now, contacts are split into two clear groups under Customers: Individuals (people) and Companies (organisations), shown as tabs next to Properties and Groups. To find an old contact, open Customers > Individuals or Customers > Companies and search by name. There is nothing to do on your side - your contacts were moved for you.
A person can now belong to a company. Open a person, then their Companies tab to see (and link) the organisations they belong to.
From the other side, open a company and its Individuals tab to see everyone who belongs to it.
Two smaller conveniences: a contact can now be created without a property (Customers > Individuals > Action > Create individual, where a property is optional), and one contact can be linked to several properties, each with its own role (shown on the contact's Properties tab).
Why this helps: cleaner records, and the flexibility to model real people, organisations and shared properties the way they actually work.
Autopilot
Autopilot | New feature | Automation
Autopilot finds the repetitive work in your tickets, shows you exactly what it would do before anything happens, and lets you switch it on safely. The Pulse page is your overview of what is running and the time saved.
Why this helps: less manual, repetitive ticket work, with full visibility and control.
Improvements
Faster, smarter lists
Tables | Improvement | Search, filter & export
Previously, each list had its own controls. Now every list shares the same tidy toolbar: a quick search, filters, a column chooser, a list / map switch, and tick boxes to select rows. You can export exactly what you have selected, and show 25, 50, 100 or 250 rows per page.
Why this helps: find, filter and export exactly what you need, the same way on every screen.
Ticket board & messaging
Tickets | Improvement | Grouped in one place
Everything to do with tickets is now grouped under Tickets: the ticket list, the board (Kanban) view and the customer messaging inbox (the envelope icon), together in one place instead of spread across the platform.
Why this helps: less clicking around - your ticket list, board and customer messages live side by side.
Data & Analytics in one place
Platform | Improvement | New home
Previously, dashboards, exports and imports were spread out. Now, when you open Data & Analytics, the tabs across the top give you everything in one place: Dashboards, Data Exports, Classic Exports and Data Imports. Open the Data Exports tab to see your saved exports, when each was last run, and to create or continue editing one.
Why this helps: one clear home for reporting, exports and imports.
Richer maps
Maps | Improvement | Layers & colour coding
Previously, the map was a simple view. Now any list can be switched to a map, with a Layers button (bottom right) to change the background and toggle extra layers, and you can colour the markers by type.
Why this helps: see your operation on the map with the background and colours that make sense to you.
Assets & containers
Assets | Improvement | New home
Previously, containers had their own area. Now containers live under Assets, with the same fast search, filtering and export and a clearer layout.
Why this helps: manage containers with the same fast tools as the rest of the platform.
What moved
A few things have moved to a more logical home. Here is where to find them - and remember the Search menu box at the top left jumps straight to any screen.
New navigation
Platform | New design | Grouped menu
Previously, the left menu appeared on hover or click and covered your view. Now it stays in place as a clean, always-visible sidebar, grouped into Data & Analytics, Tickets, Customers, Operations, Fleet, Assets, Autopilot and Alerts, with a "Search menu" box at the top left to jump straight to any screen.
Pricing is now under Contract Management
Settings | Improvement | New location
Previously under Customer management. Now product pricing and price lists live under Settings > Contract Management. Open the settings gear, then Contract Management, to manage your container, service and recurring products and price lists.
Customer messaging email is now under Company settings
Settings | Improvement | New location
Previously in a separate email area. Now the email accounts used to message your customers (the customer inbox, ticket chat and outgoing messages) are managed in one place: Settings > Company settings > Email.
Do I need to do anything?
No action is needed. Your data, contacts, properties, pricing and settings were all moved for you. This guide is only to help you find things in their new home. If a person or company looks like it is missing, check under Customers > Individuals or Customers > Companies first.
Where to get help
If you cannot find something, use the Search menu box at the top left, or contact our support team and we will point you straight to it.
