Here is the step-by-step guide for you to install the WasteHero Navigation app on Android devices:
Open the App Store on your iOS device.
Use the search bar at the bottom of the screen to search for "WasteHero Navigation."
Once you find the app in the search results, tap on it to open the app's detail page.
Tap the "Get" button. You may be asked to enter your Apple ID password or use Touch/Face ID to initiate the download.
After the download and installation process is complete, you can open the app directly from the App Store by tapping "Open," or find the app icon on your home screen or in your app library.
Follow these steps to update the app to the latest version manually. Navigate to the app's detail page in the App Store. If an update is available, the "Get" button will be replaced with an "Update" button. Tap "Update" to download and install the latest version of the app.
If you don't have access to download apps
Some companies block the ability for employees to download apps to their phones themselves. In these cases, you should contact your internal IT department.
Enabling Automatic Updates
To ensure you always have the latest features and security updates, enable automatic updates for our app:
Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
Scroll down and tap on "App Store."
Under the Automatic Downloads section, find the "App Updates" option and toggle it on.
With this setting enabled, your iOS device will automatically download and install updates for the WasteHero Navigation app whenever they become available, ensuring you're always up to date.
If you are not allowed to enable automatic updates
It may be necessary to coordinate with your internal IT department on how automatic app updates will be ensured if you cannot enable this yourself
Authorization and First Session
To log into the app:
Open the app on your device.
On the authorization screen, enter the provided email address and password.
Tap the "Log In" button to access the app.
After successfully logging in, you will be prompted to select a project and vehicle.
Selecting a Project: You can choose from a list of available projects. This selection tailors the app's functionalities and information to match the specific requirements of the project you are involved with.
Choosing Vehicle: Depending on your project, you might need to specify your primary vehicle. You can skip this step.
App Permissions
During the initial setup and ongoing use of our app, you may be prompted to grant certain permissions. These permissions allow the app to provide a richer, more integrated experience by utilizing various features of your device. It's important to allow these permissions when prompted to ensure full functionality of the app. Below is a list of permissions the app may request and the reasons why they are needed:
Push Notifications
By enabling push notifications, you allow the app to send you alerts and updates directly to your device.
Geolocation
The geolocation permission is crucial for navigation features within the app. It allows the app to provide route directions. For continuous navigation, even when the app is not in the foreground, you need to set geolocation permission to "Always.". To enable "Always" geolocation permission:
Go to the Settings app on your iOS device.
Scroll down and select "WasteHero Navigation" from the list of apps.
Tap on "Location."
Select "Always" to allow the app to access your location even when you're not actively using it. This is crucial for navigation to work in the background.
Camera
Granting camera access is necessary for functionalities that involve attaching and uploading photos. This can be used for submitting photos as attachments and scanning QR codes.
Checking the App Version
It's easy to find out which version of the app you're currently using. This information can be helpful for troubleshooting or ensuring you're on the latest version.
Option A: In the App Store
Open the App Store on your iOS device.
Tap on your profile icon at the top right of the screen.
Scroll down to see the list of apps that have updates available. If WasteHero Navigation is listed, you can see the latest version next to it. If it's not listed, it means you have the latest version installed.
You can also search for "WasteHero Navigation" in the App Store. On the app page, the current version available for download will be listed under the app's name.
Option B: In the WasteHero Navigation app Settings
Open the app and navigate to the settings screen.
The app version will be displayed at the bottom or in a dedicated "About" section.
The version may also be visible at the bottom of the authorization screen, where you can check it before logging in.
Option C: In the iOS Device Settings
Open the Settings app on your iOS device.
Scroll down and tap on "General," then "iPhone Storage" (or "iPad Storage" if you're using an iPad).
Find and select "WasteHero Navigation" from the list of installed apps.
Tap on it to view the app's details, including the version number.
